On May 6th 1954 at Iffley Road Track in Oxford Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile barrier. This is one of the most important events in the history of running, and to celebrate it's anniversary today a new running brand called Iffley Road is launching.
Here's what the website says:
Iffley Road brings a contempoary feel to a definitive range of classic running items. Combining tailored fit with high performing fabric, our apparel stands apart for its functional beauty. We're not fans of loud branding, nor do we do superfluous detail. We believe runners should stand out for their technique not their go-faster-stripe.
[At] Iffley Road we believe running is one of the simplest and most beautiful of activities. We make running gear that reflects these values - garments with a clean, understated look and excellent technical performance.
Our magazine features articles from runners and highlights the variety of ways in which we experience and approach running. We hope you enjoy reading them and would love you to get involved through the forum section at the end of each article.
I will be one of their runners providing articles. My first article will be appearing in the website's magazine section later this month and is called Run Baby Run.
Their
Facebook page and
Twitter feed are great points to get inspiration for your running should you need a little helping hand to get out the door.
